  1. Next Friday and Saturday sees the annual Breeders Cup event take place. Once again, we will be hosting the Breeders Cup competition, with 5 races on Friday the 4th, and a further 9 races on Saturday 5th, Scores will be based upon the US tote returns as has become the way in this comp, and full rules will be posted on Tues or Wed. If you fancy a crack at it, just drop an im in below.
  2. It's that time of year again folks, Royal Ascot is upon us already. 5 days of action starting next Tuesday, 14th June and running through to and including Saturday 18th June. We will be running the usual main tipping contest, as well as a KO cup to run alongside it. The usual 'im in' or something similar please to express your interest and gauge numbers. Full rules will follow.
  3. Its seems such a long time since the last event of the Summer Cup, and so as we approach November, I thought we should revisit the Breeders Cup competition that we did last year. Rules will be confirmed, but I quite liked last years format of the winnings being decided upon the US Tote returns. I am though, of course, open to any suggestion that may improve the format so feel free to make suggestions. It would help me to gauge numbers if you could put an 'Im in' reply or similar.
  4. No breathing space for those playing in the summer cup. We move swiftly onto event 4, which is the Open Golf championship and it start THIS THURSDAY!! Minus 2pts for any double bogey or worse score at a single hole. Minus 5pts for any chosen player missing the cut 5pts for the lowest scorer each day from each group of players. Any ties in a group will also score 5pts. 25pts for outright Open winner 20pts for R/U/ties 15pts for 3rd/ties 5pts for anyone else in the top 10/ties Groups - 1. John Rahm, Rory Mcllroy, Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffler, Dustin Johnson 2. 5. Event 2 of 5 in the TGC Summer Cup is Euro 2020(1). The scoring for this may seem convoluted, but I have done comps at work for previous World Cups/Euros and it has seemed to work quite well. At first glance you may think everyone will pick the same, but that has NEVER happened so I have faith I know its early to put this up, but the scoring from my side is a bit more complicated, so id prefer to spread it out rather than a surge of entries in one go. Anyone getting their selections in early will have the opportunity to change a selected PLAYER should they be INJURED or otherwise withdrawn from the tournament, any time prior to kick off of the first game of the tournament. The rules for entry are simple: - Select ANY 8 teams - Select ANY 3 players you think will score goals And that is it. Scoring: - Team Goals 10pts per goal 25pt bonus if team scores 3 or more in a single game (Bonus is applied each individual time a team scores 3 or more) Example - England win 4-0. Anyone selecting England receives 65 points (10 per goal, 25 extra as they scored 3 or more in the game) - Player goals 50pts per goal 50pt bonus if scoring a hattrick NB: Goals scored in Extra time WILL count for scoring purposes. However, goals in penalty shoot outs DO NOT. Other team points : 25pts awarded for a team win (Extra time DOES NOT count for result purposes) 10 pts awarded for a team draw 50 pts awarded to a team winning their group 25 pts awarded to a team runner up in their group And there you have it. Any questions, fire away I will be happy to answer.
  6. The world darts championship is less than 2 weeks away, and I have a competition planned to help you enjoy it. You don't need to know anything about darts to take part, as it is easy to play I assure you. I will be posing a number of questions, and all you have to do is provide a yes/no answer to each to be in with a chance of winning. If you would like to participate, just drop the usual 'in' or something similar into the thread, and I will have an idea on numbers. Questions will be posted over the weekend. GAME ON!!!

TGC have very generously donated a £50 Amazon voucher as a prize for the winner, so get your selections in before the first televised race @14.25 on Sunday to take part.
