Overview Of Bookie Of Odds
Bookie Of Odds is a new release from Microgaming, the team who created the cult classic’s Immortal Romance and Thunderstruck 2 amongst other fan favourites. It’s based on the classic book template used by many providers which out of interest is the most popular category of slot machine in the world, Book Of Ra being at the top of that list. The big question is would I want to play this instead of the classic Egyptian themed variants elsewhere, let’s take a look and see.
Slot Description
Bookie Of Odds has a standard 5 reel by 3 row setup and you play on 10 fixed pay lines. The object of the game is to land at least 3 scatters to enter the bonus round, during this round you get a random symbol selected for you and any of these symbols that land on the reel’s will expand during the free spins, if you land another 3 or more scatters in any spin you also re-trigger the bonus for 10 extra spins, this can happen an unlimited amount of times!
The other feature of this slot is the option to spin individual reel’s during the basegame, for instance you could have 2 scatters on the last 2 reel’s and choose to spin just reel 1, 2 or 3 for an increased price to try and land the 3rd scatter, this is something that add’s a new twist but at the same time won’t effect the game if you choose to play it like a regular slot. You can see below where I spun the reel’s individually to force a full line of the red horses for 200x, out of interest it cost 300x my stake to get it to land but then when I re-spun the 5th reel it hit the very next spin for another 200x and put me in profit, I could however see this costing a huge amount of money on a bad day so be very cautious!
Bookie Of Odds Paytable
The paytable in Bookie Of Odds is dynamic and adjusts with your stake size, the example below is based on £1 a spin and starting with the lowest symbols we have the 10’s, J’s and Q’s paying 10x your stake for a full line, the A’s and K’s pay slightly more at 15x and moving onto the premium symbols we have quite a steep jump with the blue and purple horses paying 75x for a full line, the red pays 200x and the tic tac man comes in at a whopping 500x, get a full line of him in the bonus and you’ll get 5000x your stake which is the games maximum win per spin.
Final Thoughts On Bookie Of Odds
Bookie Of Odds is high variance and has an RTP of 96.31% and 96.5% on the re-spin feature, interestingly this is slightly higher than Book Of Dead which has an RTP of 96.21% and over 1% higher than Book Of Ra Deluxe which has an RTP of 95.1%, It may not seem like a lot but a 1% lower RTP over thousands of spins is going to cost you a substantial amount, it also reduce’s your playtime which is important as most of us play for fun rather than the actual money.
So with that in mind would I choose this over Book Of Ra, yes I would, the way its been put together with the sound effects in the background and the commentator describing the race through every spin is simply sublime, as soon as it finished I wanted another bonus just to here the sound effects and thats not taking into consideration the higher RTP, this is a big win in my eyes and my new go to “book” game, I absolutely love it!
