Overview Of Chaos Crew
Chaos Crew from Hacksaw Gaming is a very simple, easy to play, great looking and even better sounding slot that deserves it’s own review, so here it is, welcome to the world of Cranky and Sketchy aka The Chaos Crew!
Chaos Crew has a 5×5 grid layout and an unusual 15 fixed paylines, which is not what you’d expect as it looks like a cluster pays slot. The theme is set in a graffiti adorned underground warehouse with quietly playing euro club music, that’s until you hit a half decent win and the volume immediately cranks up and the bassline is now the main feature!
During the base game the idea is to land 3 of the free spin scatters to start the bonus round, there is no tease and upon a 3 scatter spin you will be greeted with a quick scratch on the record by the DJ and the feature begins.
Once you start the feature you will be greeted with an empty grid with lots of empty symbols, you start with 3 spins and each time a Cranky or Sketchy symbol land the spins reset to 3 until you have 3 dead spins and the feature is over. For any regular players think of Money Train or Fire In The Hole for the basic concept.
Now to explain the two main mechanics is very simple, you have Cranky the Cat that multiplies the number at the top of the reel it lands on by 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x or 20x and every reel if its the Epic Version with yellow and black tape behind it!
If you land more than one Cranky on the same reel the multipliers will multiply each other which can result in ridiculous wins as shown below.
The Sketchy Skull symbol on the other hand can add a value to any reel, the values are +1, +2, +5, +10 and +20 and if you land the epic version you get the amount added to the top of every reel.
Below shows a bonus round submitted by a TGC member where the bonus round suddenly jumped from an acceptable 100x feature win to an 8848x stake win with the help of 2x epic Cranky symbols with x10 both on the same reel!
Chaos Crew Paytable
The paytable in Chaos Crew is dynamic and changes with your stake, starting with the low paying symbols we have the 8 Ball, the Pink Skull, the Acid Face, the Blue Crosses and Lightning all pay just 1x for a full way of 5.
Moving on to the premium symbols we have the Orange Moth, the Brain and the Apple Core all paying 5x for a full way and the top symbol of the Purple Tentacles pay substantially more at 12x a full way, these can be multiplied up to 5x in the base game and of course don’t exist at all in the feature!
Final Thoughts On Chaos Crew
Chaos Crew has an RTP of 96.03% and Hacksaw Gaming rate it as Extreme volatility which I’d concur on, the capped maximum win of 10,000x stake doesn’t sound as attractive as slots with 10x the potential like San Quentin or Dead Or Alive 2 but by capping the max win at 10,000x it is reached far more often and more players get to experience a “life changing” win or at the very least a “session changing” win!
Would I recommend this and would I play it again? I like the music, I like the simplicity and I like the big wins Chaos Crew churn out so that is a big YES to both q’s, out of interest this is also one of Rocknrollas favourite slots at the moment, if you fancy a go there’s a link below to a TGC approved casino, as always thanks for reading and keep it responsible.
