Overview Of Chocolates
Life is like a box of chocolates, apparently you never know what you’re gonna get. Well today you’re getting a review on a slot called Chocolates, so sit back, grab the Quality Street and enjoy!
Slot Description
Chocolates is a four reel slot all ways pay setup featuring boxes of chocolates that increase the amount of ways to win by 2, 3 or 4 times! This means every spin can produce up to 2,401 ways to win and with sticky boxes in the free spins the top win is billed at 65,536x stake in the PDF for the game.
Regular wilds and Golden Ticket wilds substitute for every symbol except the scatters and chocolate boxes. The wilds can be found on reels 2, 3 and 4 and if you get a Golden Ticket wild the win will be multiplied by 6x, the Golden Tickets can also multiply each other so 2 would be 36x your win for example.
Chocolate boxes can land on any of the 4 reels and each box can contain up to 4 of the same symbol exactly like the older release from BTG, Donuts. This makes multiples of a symbol very easy to land if lady luck is on your side. All boxes will reveal the same synbol.
Landing 3 or 4 scatters in any position award 7 or 10 free spins respectively, when you start the feature a cuckoo comes out the clock and turns at least 1 of the scatters into a locked chocolate box, in my 3 features it was always 2 but I presume it could be up to 4 if you landed the maximum amount of scatters.
During the free spins the chocolate boxes become sticky and open at the end of each spin to reveal the same symbol, if you fill a reel with all 4 boxes you are awarded an additional 3 free spins. Up to 12 extra free spins can be awarded making the max available 22 in total.
Chocolates Paytable
The paytable in chocolates is fixed and doesn’t change with your stake, starting with the lower paying symbols we have the 9’s, the 10’s and J’s which pays a paltry 0.1x your stake, yes a tenth of your stake, that’s not a typo! The other 3 pay double this at a whopping 0.2x your stake.
Now moving on to the premium symbols we have the Green pyramid chocolate paying 0.3x your stake, the Blue coconut chocolate pays 0.4x, the Red strawberry chocolate pays 0.5x your stake and the Purple hazelnut choccy pays the most at a whopping 1x your stake!
This may seem very stingy but after playing for a short while you will realise why with the potential for 256 ways of chocolate to pop out of 4 boxes and then be multiplied by up to 3 Golden Ticket wilds which would be a 216x multiplier on top of the win, it really does have insane potential and it’s probably not that hard to realise compared to some of the other atrocities out there.
Final Thoughts Chocolates
Chocolates has a fixed RTP of 96.60% and BTG list it as high volatility, personally I would say its super high variance and for good reason, the max win of 65,536 x stake takes care of that although it’s worth noting I got over 600 spins from 100x stake bankroll, which is not too shabby from a playtime point of view.
Would I play this again, yes I would but on mute as I don’t rate the sound effects in this particular instalment from BTG, especially after the recent release Star Clusters which has one of the best sound effect collections to date from the Australian outfit in my opinion.
As always, thanks for reading and good luck if you’re having a punt.
