I completely done my bollocks 🤦‍♂️

I have been doing alright on the whole of not going too mad but I started last week and since then it’s been non stop up till 4-5 in the morning betting on American, Aussie racing throw in club hipico 🤦‍♂️ and any other racing that’s goin on at them times couple that with morning dogs here and the racing and was just on a path of self destruction, I knew I wouldn’t stop until it’s all gone. I’m now sat here with all these thoughts goin through my head the guilt the telling myself I’m a complete prick the what the fuck did I do that for the what’s the point in carrying on, I can’t believe what a complete idiot I’ve been. Anyway this is not an attention seeking post I know full well what a bellend I’ve been and have nobody to blame but my stupid self. I will never use gamstop or anything similar I just won’t. I do have deposit limits set on some sites but not all yes I know it’s daft and should have them on all sites I use if I’m not willing to do the gamstop route.

FFS what a twat

@VillaLad It's so easy to get carried away mate.

Been there so many times. You convince yourself expecially when you are winning that everything is OK and you are in control, but it's false. When you start losing the degen in you kicks in and you chase until you win it back or its all gone.

I would recommend the gamstop route. Is there a particular reason you won't use it?

Don't be alone with them thoughts mate. There's always someone here to lend an ear

Don't be so hard on yourself. You made mistake, but it's not the end of the world. Focus on what you have to do instead of what has happened.

I’ve gotta be hard on myself it’ll be the only way to try n not do it again I’m just feeling sorry for myself right now I’ll be fine tomorrow.

@david1111 don’t worry I’m not gonna do anything silly as you said we’ve all been here before many a time and as for gamstop it’ll never happen as gambling is one of the few things I enjoy I’ve just got to moderate it that’s all, hopefully this will be the kick up the arse I needed 🤷‍♂️

Yeah fair enough mate. I would put deposit limits on the others though.

By the way jokester meant easy peasy!

"I completely done my bollocks" - you can't really sum it up much better than that can you.

How comes you are able to gamble 24/7 out of interest? Off work and got idle hands or working and just tapping away on the mobile.

And what's the implications of losing that much dough for you? Bread and butter sandwiches for a month?

Feck man!

Always respect the honesty with such situations and most of us honest gamblers have been on that ride a few times,  a few wins then the confidence hits turbo and we feel like we've just turned Pro.

Still amazes me how hardened we can become towards a loss session NO possibility of any return back to gambling,  then after a break we have another roll of the dice and should that land all the bad times have miraculously disappeared and we're back in the game.

Not a single experience can any member of this site put up on this site that I've not been through or done, not one, gambling provides the biggest rush and is by far the hardest thing I've ever had at giving up, it's a weird fetish.

That HIT we get at that very moment our horse takes up the lead 2 out and kicks for home, OR wins that race RIGHT on the wire,  PHOTOGRPH!!!!

So much on the line and even in a busy shop nobody else matters,  just us and that TV

Are we totally FOOKED or are we Jack the lad again ?

It's a crazy crazy game and I don't have any answers on why we do it,  why do we put ourselves through this shit over and over again ?

That is so true and sums it up to perfection.

Always strange that after that sore fall we usually win when we return,  that win allows us 2 then forgive and forget

Us gamblers usually have very selective memories

I always hate when on a break ''licking the wounds'' then all you see is the horses you backed and lost on now all winning

Strange how that happens

Salt in the wounds

Mate I just tell it how it is I’ll never sugarcoat it or put it down. As you say the hardened gamblers have all been where I am now the only difference is I’m having all these emotions sat on my settee and not the lonely walk back home from the bookies or wherever. I will try n learn from it but I’ll most probably do it again it’s just in the blood I’m a gambler that’s it and I need that endorphin rush.

The Golden No-1 rule that we all know is - Control !

Control is the main ingredient

If I pick out 2 horses for a day and the first wins I'll sometimes not even back the second runner,  the second runner was my backup

The problem fuse gets lit if both of them lose

The urge to win your money back is just to great.

It's also strange how we think in that we no longer care about winning but just getting back even

Getting back even is often classed as a win,  well we dress it up as a win

I'm more than happy if I can find something that could give me £50 or more a day in profit

The daft bit is not going to the bookies just with £50 stake money

Unsure why I do this but I love a backup horse in the last race of the day

It feels great if it does win as you can enjoy the rest of the night on a high,  BUT if it does get beat you can't back anything else as the racing is finished.

That's why I also try and avoid online,  cos if the horse wins it's just so easy to then find yourself in the casino moving about digits.

Holding actual money notes feels a lot more real IMO

Clicking and tapping is just more game like,  playstation territory

Online gambling is the worst thing, certainly for me anyway.

I never thought I would have backed a cartoon dog at 2 o clock in the morning.

At least that's in the past

Mind doing 5 ton years back on NO more goals in a fookin ice hockey game - PMSL

The game only had like 3 or 4 mins remaining and it was showing 4/5

The VERY SECOND the bet was accepted they scored

Ever remember the show Cracker ?

Robbie Coltrane

His main flaw was gambling,  some of the sagas he got into were extremely touching,  the writers of such shows MUST have wrote them out of real experiences,  you can only write that stuff from reality.

I do and yes I watched them all.

He was a good actor. Another one sadly no longer with us
