Who reads the terms and conditions  really.

Imagine getting a bet on with a few minutes to the race and then saying to yourself oh hang on I'd better read this 100 page document.

its basically a get out for them

True

Watched a few Vids the other night on Harry Findlay,   he said ................WHO is a responsible gambler ?

The very fact you are GAMBLING kind of gives a hint on what kind of person you are

Isn’t it a binding contract once the bets accepted?

No.  If they refuse to pay you you cannot sue and get paid as gambling debts are not enforceable under law.   That is why someone owes you money get them to sign an IOU  as that is.

In England and Wales since 2005  I see  which was also when the Gambling Commission was set up.  In Northern Ireland  it was only looked at in 2021 I am not sure about Scotland.   I was always under the impression that gambling debts were unenforecable  and I left the UK before 2005  so did not realise it had been changed. In the past it was always the bookmakers that did not want it changed because they did not want to have to chase gamblers for money and forclose on their homes etc.   I think it was the advent of debit and credit cards and the reduction of  credit betting meaning that all bets had to be paid on  that led to the change.

It also only applies to a UKGC licenced company.

This also means that if you are overpaid that bookmakers can force you to pay money back  and also that the terms and conditions are highly significant if you run into a problem. It also means that they can refuse to take your bet just as any other commercial company can refuse to trade with you.

People over the years haven't been paid and sued

Don't know any1 personally but read a good amount of stories

One of the biggest cases was against your made Fred   when he was made to pay out 1.7 million despite claiming a software glitch.

i also see that it is the reason you are not allowed to bet using someone elses money ( this may be the reason  people get into trouble using a spouses card)   it also means you cannot place a bet on behalf of someone else as you are the one entering the contract.   This means that if someone asks you to put a bet on for them that is technically a breach of contract

Funnily enough if you bet with inside information that is also not allowed.
