Time to stop playing slots ?

Recommended Posts

This is getting crazy, impossible to win anything. Deposits are gone in minutes with 0 satisfaction or excitement. Its just not fun anymore to lose after 5 minutes and then redeposit and the same thing happens no matter how many deposits I do.

I promised myself I wont play slots to at least next year. Will still play poker of course and even that I will probably just do few tournaments here and there. I will try to focus on other things for a while.

This thread is just to vent a little bit how unfair the gambling gods are to me really. They can suck my nut sack.

When i recently signed up to Bet365 I had a go at their slots and my strategy of playing Blueprints at stupid o'clock in the morning hunting out a stake that's on a payout streak just does not work here, it works great on Bet Victor and Casimba but here it's just hours of getting absolutely nothing.

For me it doesnt matter where I play or when I play, how many deposits I make. Its just going down just like the world we are living in... 😂

This is what happens when volatility increases. 6 years ago the highest variance game was Dead or Alive and was way out there on its own. Nowadays Dead or Alive is absolutely child’s play in comparison.

I used to take deposit bonuses and it would last hours on reasonable stakes. Nowadays you take a deposit bonus, play on 40p and you get rinsed in under an hour.

I wonder there it will all end? We may as well just buy 50 lottery tickets.

Which slots do you generally play? What is your average stake?

When I started on slots back in February I remember my first session, £100 deposit, £1 spins, played Big Bass Bonanza & Royale with Cheese, £100 gone in a few minutes. I remember ditching slots and playing tables instead. Roulette would be ok for hitting 4-5 numbers in a row, then I got greedy putting on larger amounts and that went. After I hit big on Primal (£1400 on £1.60 stake), I withdrew most of it and was up £900 on BetVictor.

I then moved to just betting on horses and so far I've been up up and away. But the lure of the slots.

While Bet365 is healthy as I don't play on their slot site, SkyBet was another matter. They're cheeky with their "you can sign into all 7 of our sites with one logon", I managed to stay clear of SkyVegas for a long time but one day was bored and just started playing. Not the greatest selection.

Now I just deposit the odd £100 into BV or 21, play on 20-30p stake. If a bonus comes in within a tenner great, if not I move on. If I hit big, great, if not the balance is gone and I time myself out for a month.

Since February I've hit 1000x 3 times but its been on 20p. Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, East Coast & Jammin' Jars. I hit the top of the tower on Steamtower but it was on 15p stake lol

Crypto sites for me work, UK sites can jog the f*ck on, UK sites are really really boring these days agreed! I self excluded more UK sites.
Crypto sites - I get 1,000x a week on a bad week.
The last time I had 1,000x on a UK site oh boy I don't know.

on UK sites I used to deposit like £100 or something, now I'd rather just deposit like £30, £30, £40 per time and should that rip - 4/6 week cool off.
Since the autospins removal for me, it seems that was when it went downhill for me.

I play all slots. I find interesting slots from every provider. I would say if I look at yearly stats it would be around 40p on average and I am down more than 10k in the last year. My €50-100 deposits usually last up to 30mins, sometimes a little bit more depending on the slots I play and depending if I do fast spins on some games that are boring in base game.

I used to do 100 tickets on the lotto hotpicks, match 2 numbers = £60 but I'd repeat the same numbers x 100 so £100 bet, get 2 numbers correct = £6,000.
Odds 1 in 115. I stopped as it I didn't win but was fun at the time, I still do the same now just less tickets.

I played mostly on stars, party or a crypto site that I wont mention and It doesnt matter. When you go into a insane bad run you are fucked no matter what. I did two one month "cool offs" this year and I didnt help either so Its time for a longer one.

I'm down £329 since February when I started. I've played a lot of slots and now I just tend to stick to ones I enjoy playing.

Good for you man. Even tho you are down you are still very lucky  if you compare it to me and how much I lost in almost the same time frame. There are so many slots that you can enjoy these days since every week they release a ton of them.

I would say that games are being more and more heavily geared towards bonus buys and volatility. 500-2000x buys seems to be the only way to win huge and I don't think I've ever seen a natural super bonus roll in. Slots are basically being built nearly all toward bonus buys which excludes the UK and we are left playing games where we cannot hit the big wins that balance the volatility. Just get stuck old games and lower volatiliy and topping up games to pay the big wins.

I can understand why the likes of @ryans_slots play on crypto. I dont agree with crypto casinos yet but I can appreciate if you are prepared to take the risk with your money its the only way of accessing the top potential of a lot of games with bonus buys.

In the next few years the UK market will be barren, a lot of providers will pull out and what's left won't have the same number of players purely because more and more are going to go down other avenues in order to be able to hit the big wins.

Personally I would much prefer to have bonus buys banned from all games, throughout the world. That would push providers to build games with the potential built achievable in normal play which would give the UK players a much better chance to win more and not just top the games up for wins we will nearly never get.

Slots can fudge off. If you want some casual gambling excitement I think poker tournaments are the best. At least someone for sure is going to win the tournament and if you play tight-aggressive style with good understanding about pre-flop shove ranges then you have a decent chance to break-even or even make a profit long-term.

That’s exactly what I thought until I played on pokerstars .
