She's The Real Deal

Recommended Posts

Not had the best of luck in this race but it's still a race I've loved over the years, did take a sore one last year when getting involved with the Wesley Wards hope with Frankie up that being Golden Pal, they were out the gate like a BULLET but went out like a wet firework and a long way from home, money gone and a decent stake.

I do have a little back history with the selection and was given a good heads up on even before she set foot on any racecourse, even when a horse is talked up in the way she was I still like to see things with my own eyes and make my own judgement so a cautious bet was placed when she made her debut last May 2021 at Newcastle, she won that race and as gamblers that's when we then kick ourselves for not being a little braver but that being said it was also good when the heads info was accurate, sadly she then took an injury so all future plans were on hold and connection just wanted to see her back a healthy filly so when they entered her in a race at Bath on 11th June 2022 a lot of eyes were on her in eager anticipation that she was still the horse they thought she was, I did back her that day but the direct info on her was a bit cloudy but I still decided on a decent enough stake at 4/5  - from a long way from home it was easy on the eyes this was a question of .......How Far ?

They could have hooked up one of the hot dogs vans to the back of her that day at Bath and she'd still of won,  ''a race worth viewing back for any interested racing fans''

She was then entered in the John Smith's city walls stakes at York which is a Listed event over the straight 5,  again those in the know were still a little nervous but the feedback I got was they only feared 1 horse and that horse was Winter Power, both went of joint fav's that day and I myself had 2 decent stake win bets, 1 online that shall remain private and the other that featured on here at TGC.

She broke from gate one settled nicely and when Andrea Atzeni asked for effort and stride on she did it in style drawing clear.  before the off down at the start of that race a few of the runners were playing up but the selection was as cool as a cucumber, sprinters can be very buzzed up at times like coiled springs and many races are won and lost from the stalls but I was really impressed how some of the others acting up didn't alter her very professional calm attitude, that can be rare and I really do hope she is a carbon copy down at the start on Friday 19th.

Id like to have said a few pointers about some of the other runners in this event but even at this stage the final line up hasn't yet been confirmed, if I was being honest I still fear Winter Power as over the years as a punter I've witnessed many a good horse run a few off races then suddenly they still in a performance we just didn't expect,  I guess that's when you know it was all about 1 certain race and this is a race some select trainers do like to aim for and win.

The selection so far has a perfect 3 from 3 record and hopefully she can make it 4,  if she can get down to the start trouble free along with not hitting major traffic issues I have her down as having an outstanding chance at getting her first Group 1

These races are great to watch BUT they are Dangerous to gamble in,  I've had more burnt fingers in sprint races that I care to remember with lots of those races flinging up a one off performance by a trainer horse combo I just never seen coming,  I'm one of the punters that always felt Winter Power was a good horse but I just had a gift for finding all the races she got beat in, she's still no mug and a hardened well thought after sprinter.

Decent looking race and a race I'm really looking forward to catching,  even though I'll most probably bottle out from actually watching,  I hate watching these races,  I fill up with pure anxiety & expectation,  might watch some through my fingers over my eyes.

Time will tell mate, time will tell

After a few journeys with some horses I didn't think another would come along but it has,  even if I didn't have a penny on her Id still love her to get her first Group race.

Some of the YT Comments are a tad cruel, Yes her price is short and so not for everyone but she's a very smart filly

For me it's the race of the year

It means a lot

Good luck, but that shorty can suck my hairy nads, i quite like the outside rag at 100/1, New York City, has potential as shown in a listed win earlier in career. Has been exposed in better quality races since but is only 3 and running at a very high level surely has more to offer. Seems a decent EW plunge

Just not meant to be

That's racing

I have a question do you prefer to beat 5-6 lengths or by a nose/sh ?

I backed it myself could see 2f in that it wasn’t going to win (well I could)

Ive completely done my bollocks the last 2 days it’s not good and right now I’m not in a very good place it’s time for a break

Think most would say 5-6 lengths. Nothing worse than getting touched off by a nose.

I agree with you, it was beat 2 out

Sorry you're in a bad place

It's a tough game fella simple as that, and today's race was a Group 1 and competitive, horse racing is no different than other forms of gambling.  I had 5 Ante post bets on Royal Aclaim today and she was my only bet, it didn't pay off and she was beat fair and square, sure no bollocks were done in but it was still a nasty loss and I was only betting at much higher stakes purely due to having a good year, I've sat in these positions many a time at this time of year then still went into a new year on a big loss.  It's a break for me too mate but I do enjoy a break, those breaks can only be triggered by either doing said bollocks in OR failing on a decent sized stake bet.

I go through a few pairs of boots a year for a good reason,  walking the land clears my old napper,  the voices stop when man walks some land.

All you can do is open the bottle and drink some medicine while deciding if you want to fling in the towel or roll the dice again in the future.

Not many things in life excite me now, gambling still gets my juices going on certain stakes,  I'll be back to roll the dice again,  who knows when.

Take it easy fella and I for one fully respect you're honesty in you confessing how things are etc, only you can decide how things will be in the future.

If this game was easy we'd all be rich,  as the saying goes............If you don't like Wolves,  don't go playing in the woods.

Chin Up man ok

I will never not be happy for Jason Hart when he wins a big race, best jockey in that field but he doesn't get many solid rides in those types of races. Also sincerely, I do not care if you win or lose, I just do not like shitty zero value betting.

Yeah most people would say that, I have always found a close miss to be far more satisfying than being nowhere near though. My logic being if you're hitting close to the target you're doing something right with your selections.

Just wanted to put up some of the other Ante post bets that were placed on this tip but sadly can't find the 5th one

Sometimes I just tap away and delete things on my PC or lappy along with my phone then further down the line realise I've went a bit OTT by deleting some images Id rather have kept

In total it was the biggest loss bet of they year.  So far anyway.
