Double Bubble Bingo Gamstop withdrawal

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am with Gamstop but managed to sign up to Double Bubble bingo. I added my full name including my middle with the correct address.

I deposited £600 and won £1,200. they cancelled my withdrawal and told me they would just give me my deposit back.

I don’t agree with this. If I was to lose my deposit of £600 they wouldn’t give that back to me. They would say that I chose to gamble. I work in the bookies so know that if a self excluded customer manages to gamble then any wager stands whether win or lose.

They can’t have it both ways. If I win they keep it and give me back my deposit and if I lose they don’t give me anything at all. I put in a  complaint with them yesterday and they said they would get back to me. So today I called and asked the question to see if I got a different response. The advisor told me that if I was to deposit I would not get it back. So I said to him so why when I win you are just refunding my initial deposit

what do you guys think??

Be happy with the deposit back and stop playing if you are on gamstop!

Most of the casinos will close the account and tell you to screw yourself without paying the deposits back.

@Liam156

Remember the reason why you joined gamstop.

If you keep trying to find casinos you'll encounter so many problems.

Yes exactly but I won. So they should pay the original withdrawal and close the account. That’s what most the casinos and bookmakers would do

No, you are wrong. Most of the bookmakers would not even give you a deposit back or at least they would try not to pay.

One thing is for sure and that is if you manage to sign up to a site which is beholden to UKGC regulations whilst on Gamstop, by using slightly different details you will never ever receive any winnings.

Some may give you your deposit back, some won't. Depends on whether they are being twats or not. My understanding is they don't have to. So think yourself lucky and don't push them.

And don't be an idiot in future. You went on Gamstop for a reason.

I was under the impression that if the details do match 100% with the gamstop register then you would be entitled to deposit/s back? They're paying you back the deposit though so I guess that's irrelevant in this case.

Also imagine the headline, gamstopped player doubles £600 to £1200 and gets paid, he then goes back to gambling and loses everything because of this, they can't risk it.

And if you'd have lost youd have been here complaining they let you sign up and saying they should give you your deposit back.

If you choose to gamble when you're on gamstop just be grateful for the deposits back. You have no right to the winnings despite incorrectly being allowed to gamble.

Wish we had a gamstop rep on here for these posts to clarify what happened. If casinos are allowing gamstopped people to sign up that is wrong and they should be done by the UKGC but only if the exact same sign up details were used. No slight deviation from emails, address etc.

Yes but if I lost they are saying they would give me my deposits back which I do not believe.

so basically it’s a win win for them. I won so they stopped the withdrawal and gave the deposit back. If I had lost it then they would keep that money.

they’ve given me my deposit but I have put in a complaint

Your lucky to get your deposits back mate, I had the same scenario with MrQ and they told me to get fucked. I’m surprised the Gamstop database didn’t pick u up when u registered with the casino.

the casinos play the system - you play the system .

the system does not work in your favour .

the casino has a number of legitimate ways to refuse your payment , and if you're gamstopped its even better . why fall into the trap , unless you think you can outwit the system and con the casino to pay you out winnings ....

take the deposit back . don't play games .Gambling is serious business , it can wreck your life .

Pretty sure they would have given back your deposits if after losing you contacted them to tell them you were gamstopped - which I'm 99% sure you would have done if you had lost.

I suspect it's actually you who wants it win win.

@Liam156 It does seem that you want it both ways.  However I also see the flip side that the casinos have a licence and with that social responsibility obligations.  They are meant to have measures in place to prevent this happening (i.e. total failure of the data matching system check to stop those on Gamban even signing up).  Most trying to circumvent this, amend their details to try and get past this check. However, taking you at your word of using exact details of Gamban info, then the matter really does need to be brought to the attention of the GC as a licence issue especially to ensure its not a widespread problem.

Some might say that they are in possible breach of several codes.

  • Self-exclusion: remote social responsibility (SR) Code 3.5.3
  • Prevent self-excluded individuals from participating in gambling – breach of SR Code 3.5.3(1)
  • Prevent marketing material being sent to self-excluded customers – breach of SR Code 3.5.3(2)
  • Return funds to customers who have entered self-exclusion agreements – breach of SR Code 3.5.3(5)

In relation to funds return, Social Responsibility Code 3.5.3(5) which states:

Licensees must close any customer accounts of an individual who has entered a self exclusion agreement and return any funds held in the customer account. It is not sufficient merely to prevent an individual from withdrawing funds from their customer account whilst still accepting wagers from them. Where the giving of credit is permitted, the licensee may retain details of the amount owed to them by the individual, although the account must not be active.

And @Blacko

If Mr Q did tell you to get fucked please pursue them.  There are clear precedents (Bonne Terre 2018)

Take out "Prevent marketing material being sent to self-excluded customers – breach of SR Code 3.5.3(2)"  It's irrelevant in this case, as it was not a sign up from marketing.

It was years ago hardman, they agreed to refund me but put up so many blocks and excuses about bank details not being correct that I eventually gave up, scummy fuckers
