So if your best non point scoring position was 2nd and opponents best was 3rd, you would qualify. WINNING DISTANCE APPLIES ?? perhaps I may suggest the person with the winner at the most distance wins the tie ..... ie if a horse wins 4 lengths , and the other 2 lengths the winner at 4 lengths wins the tie ....or total winning lengths over more than one race etc......
