MrUKHackz
For anyone that is thinking of having a cheeky go on the FOBTs, please watch this and stay away, Mark puts £20 in and loses and ends up emptying his bank account in 30 minutes.
Quicksave1
I put £20 in max, 100/1 roulette and hard cover 1200 credits and hope I hit green meter. I've had that dial fail me 15 times in a row though. You have such a little chance of winning, you're best gambling with high credit and small green meter. Blacko
Sad viewing.. dare I say I could describe big Mark as “vulnerable”, heartbreaking watching him lose his money in such a short period of time. I try to avoid them now, I would start playing El Toreador on 20p before shortly heading to Pots o Gold at £2 a throw.. disaster. Why do people still play roulette on these things? you have that pie gamble thing now you have to win before it spins.
david1111
That's tough to watch. It's like watching legalised theft. It's like he had accepted he was going to lose from the start. I wonder if the staff could hear him talking as if so they clearly didn't give a toss

MrUKHackz
Hello, ello, ello, who have we got in the comments section on the FOBT video! It's only the triple Champ champ, numero uno, the notorious Miller! 1

It's terrible allowing a vulnerable person to go that far knowing what it's doing to him. I know the staff are mostly youngsters on minimum wage so really don't care. They might feel differently if it was one of their family doing their bollocks in
Solario333
How it is still legal is testament to the huge amount of Lobbying and free gifts the gambling lobby can afford as Joe Public has his life ruined completely by endless avarice and obvious misrepresentation --- I hardly think that was random !!! Davina
I realise everyone is different and I’ve never been particularly drawn to fobts but if your going to spunk that much money why not go to a casino and at least do it on a proper table not one of these awful money drainers most of the time you don’t even get a spin of the actual wheel ! Really sad to watch that

Really sad to watch that its very convenient to go to a local bookie, unfortunately ....and addiction doesn't have any rules !! so many people lose fortunes , even now ..... and knowing that value does not exist seems to make no difference when reason and logic are missing .

Its a hard one to sympathise to an extent though mate - i know people who are working two jobs while trying to raise their kids right. Hes on benefits and still finds the funds to get a macbook pro (which he then pawns). It's easy for him to say "oh look ive spent everything", but in reality his accomodation is sorted, he can always get a crisis loan from the dole while lots of people are grinding at work. Might come across as hard but i really struggle to sympathise with some people who are funded by the hard work of others. I know i have some mental gambling sessions - 10/20k black jack sessions used to be a norm for me. But i graft 60+ hours a week and work hard for what i have. PieGamble
It honestly blows my mind that the bookies were limited to a £2 max stake and managed to come up with a product / feature that is infinitely more problem gambling inducing then the thing it replaced. Speaking from my own experiences - fortune spins or those type of gambles catapulted me to the moon in terms of tilt. I think it's the fact you feel so cheated chasing something which is meant to cost around 10 x your stake and £100 later in a very short space of time you have nothing - not even a spin. Couple that with the constant near miss (basically almost every spin or every other spin) and you can see why. The bookies have essentially made FOBTs very high volatility coupled with lower percentages and increased game speed. Their strategy is to simply turn you around in the shortest time possible because that is how they can maximise their profits. I feel sorry for those problem gamblers because for the reasons above I think they have it worse than ever and it's only going to get worse. Perhaps the saving grace is these things are so fucking awful that the average person cannot realistically play one and 'have fun' thus hopefully closing the door on the next breed of problem gamblers in the making. Writing here today because someone shared an article about some tragic gambling story and wondered if it was being discussed and this thread caught my eye. Peace and love TGC

How many of us would swap lives with Mark though, not a single one of us. He may work the system to some extent but he has nothing to show for it, no friends, no hobbies, no family, nothing. It's an awful existence he lives tbh and that's why I don't hate on him.

We cannot judge each other for we are all members of the human race , all together seeking a better life, more freedom of expression , less Authoritarian dogma, less hypocrisy, and enough money to live in peace and harmony with our fellow travellers in this domain of new light .

That's a very sad way of putting it but it's 100% true and i've never hated on him either but i have been hated on myself for being nice towards him when i very first found out who he was. bigbucks1983
I had a biggish win last week on the FOBTs and then typically a bigger load. Usually story, game wouldn't bonus for hundreds and then I'm tilting. Game was Lady's lucky charm. Doo doo doodadoo doo doo doodadoo, that fucking bonus tune it was on my banned list but it loaded by accident and I thought ah one spin, well the rest is history. I actually think that game is criminal anyway, my biggest ever FOBT loss was on it. They seem to have put it on a FOBT with FOBT values but I feel it still has the casino programme on it. Very very rarely bonuses, normally takes 4 or 500 for me which is like they can at the casino, difference is casino I've had go 2k and the bookies is capped. Proper bent game I'm sure of it. Same for all the casino games they stick on FOBTs but that is by far the worst. As for Seaside, it's a sad state of affairs and whatever mental health issues I feel sorry for him as much as he is ridiculous. Bookies do no duty of care what so ever.

These pawn shops are there to cater for the immediate cash that guys like big Seaside Mark is looking for. All those pawn shops on the telly with blokes bringing in Elvis Presley's coat or John Kennedys cigar box is utter bullshit, watch this documentary on a Canadian pawnbrokers and you will see the sad reality of alcoholics, drug addicts etc.. looking for fast cash, this is truly eye opening. This actually sickens me, they've actually created a full cycle of trade. I've seen it in so many areas where the ratio of people on benefits are higher. Gambling/bookies to create the win big dream and escape, cex and cash convertors to sell the little you have to fund the dream chance especially when youre addicted.
