Unknowingly knowing other members

I got thinking about this after remembering something that happened to me a few years back.

I used to browse the bbc 606 boxing forum quite a lot and ad with all forums there were the regular contributors and characters. Well one of these was quite a polarising guy, quite opinionated and rated himself somewhat in life. Anyway one day someone had managed to find out who he was in real life and posted a few random facts about him. One being a unique nickname he had when playing football. Anyway after seeing that, along with things this guy had said about himself I realised I knew the guy, his username was his surname and I'd played junior golf with him for years when we were younger. I messaged him on Facebook, just the username, and he unfriended me and never spoke to me again. The thing is, how he portrayed himself online was a slight exaggeration of real life.

So it got me thinking about this place, i doubt we will never know but I wonder if any of us actually know eachother in real life without realising it. I bet a few of us have stood next to eachother in an arcade or bookie at some point having a spin and none the wiser. I wonder how many people on here are prone to a little exaggeration and truth stretching when talking about themselves.

Not much of a topic to cause much conversation but something to think about unless we wanna stir the pot and talk about who we think is the least like their online persona.

It amazed me in the past when certain people were invited for the hook-up but declined straight away, I still have the list. 

A few big money talkers,  I got the impression had the hook-up been in their back garden they STILL wouldn't have shown up 

We have everything on this site from World class football mangers to 15 times Champion Jockeys along with a few undefeated heavyweight boxers
