@Rosequartz11 You should get a refund so try not to stress about it too much. But I will echo what @Blacko has said and suggest that you are open and honest with your partner about this as it will then help you going forward. All the best.

Finger's crossed. Thanks everyone, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Hearing everyone's thoughts on the matter has put my mind at ease a little and made me feel a bit more confident a refund may actually happen. I will pluck up the courage to put my partner in the loop. Thank you

I hope you get it sorted. Best of luck and hopefully you learn from this and take the time with gamstop to grow and realise how much of a dark place you can get into.

I know I have.

I certainly have learnt the hard way. The last two weeks have been be brutal for me if im honest. I havent gambled since the 26th of April and I feel like im walking about with a miserable looking face. How the hell can playing slots take over your life like this.... its madness

It doesn’t get any easier Rose, you gotta take things one day at a time. Slot providers nowadays sell dreams, I can’t go back to gambling online as games such as crazy time and monopoly will ultimately break me. Gamstop yourself young lady, speak to ur fella and get urself back on track, easier said than done but you will get there as a couple.

I put gamstop in place on the 10th of April. I also took steps today through my bank to block transactions being made to gambling sites. Just one step at a time eh.

It gets easier with time - just take it day by day.

If you ever need a fix, i did hear that someone had a decent hit on jammin jars at some point. Not sure who it was, might have been the mexican or bandito or something like that. @Gkell727 knows who it was.

You will go through major cold Turkey, I googled through dozens of casinos and ended up punting money through a couple of them who were non regulated scamsters, please don’t fall into the same trap as me. One day at a time Rose.

I went over to ladbrokes and attempted to join with my brothers address and it instantly informed me of my exclusion so the change of address shouldn’t be an issue for you. Most of these operators are dumb fucks so be patient and wait for the managers response.

Well I finally had the dreaded response back from ladbrokes and they have said that given that the address didn't match i would not be issued with a refund on this occasion,  its my duty as a customer to make sure all the details are kept updated

Complete cop out but if it’s in the terms and conditions that’s that I’d imagine 😩

Its a completely different address 😞 think its safe to say I don't have a leg to stand on

Which of the addresses is the bank card registered to?

My new address. The one that was on gamstop but not on ladbrokes 😞

I know it is not the outcome you wanted. If you think about it reflectively you know deep down that you needed to keep gamstop up to date.

I think to anyone reading this member or guest it is a stark reminder that if you sign up to a gambling prevention tool, you keep it updated.

I hope that you found the courage to tell your partner and have his support.

Keep safe and stay on site as many members on here no longer gamble but provide great advice and support. Hopefully you can give that back to others as you abstain

Tbh, address not matching shouldnt be the end of it. If the name and dob matched that should be enough in my book. Surely the system isnt as shit as a miss matching address lets you slip past.

In the gamstop terms and conditions it clearly states that you must keep your details up to date. I know what you are saying but clearly if you utilise a tool to keep you safe you keep it updated.

A change of address is a significant event.

You can do this! Keep strong and update gamstop with all current details and inform them of any changes.

Hope to read about your journey

She said her new address was on gamstop but her old one on ladbrokes no? I mean its unlikely that youd go back through all your accounts to change your address after moving if you signed up to gamstop. Personally i think its rather silly to assume a customer would do that. Or rather silly to require a customer to do that. I mean, these systems the bookmakers use already do exclude purely on name and dob. So it seems like ladbrokes to me have questions to answer.

Honestly I hear what you are saying. It will not help the person who is gambling with an incorrect address on either.

Please just make sure if you are signing up to gamstop you are fully truthful and leave nothing to chance as you will be caught out one way or another. Be that a loss or a win, you simply will lose.

You can not rely on chances of error when gamstop is part of the tool and you are the other. Many try to beat the system... It's a fools game
