Source of wealth is exactly that ,they want to know where the money come from . Its extremely unlikely but if they suspect the money is illegal they can refer it to the police .

The casino can not withhold the money indefinitely

Bit misleading to be fair mate. Plenty of instances where people have not been paid out due to SOW checks, so by no means does this guy have to be proven to have done something criminal.

Good luck with the SOW hoop jumping @Pizzaby87 mate you will definitely need it

Not misleading at all .they can not hold on to money if he's done nothing wrong. Its as simple as that .

I honestly dread to think how many people are reading this who have been fucked over on SOW checks over something completely benign.

Why do people offer opinions on things they have no first hand experience in. Baffling

Agree - they might have to release it eventually, but the hoops they can make you jump through are horrendous. Take ths piss now, "send us a photo holding todays newspaper, explain to us why you sent someone £6 through paypal etc."

A casino cannot hold funds indefinitely you said.

If a casino doesn’t want to pay it they won’t. They can find something really trivial within that SOW and shut you down.  Having had several disputes up to ADR stage and beyond I wouldn’t call myself an expert but your statement leads me to believe you certainly shouldn’t be commenting on this topic

A perfectly innocent cash deposit into your bank could be enough to void your withdrawal. No offence but @Miller26 definitely out his depth on this one

I'm no expert, but unless they could prove money laundering or the like surely they have no grounds to withhold funds

It is extremley difficult especially when my Mrs puts down "Penis Enlargement Surgery" or "Cockwomble Award" as the reference. Try explaining that one to customer support

For all intents and purposes yeah SOW is exactly that a check on your background to confirm legality of your deposits etc. But fuck me if it’s used that way. Go through one of these and then share your experience

Its not always a question of them proving it though, its how long they can prevent you from withdrawing by constantly moving the goal posts

Yeah exactly. All the while you are working on providing one part of it they are scrambling at the other end to either undermine it or find something harder/impossible for you to provide to void the winnings.

Another issue I’ve found is if they can stall you long enough they can even suspend/close your account in the middle of the process. It’s happened to me and all the evidence you’ve collated on their system just vanishes

See what you mean. I used one casino though who specically put a message up prior to deposit that sow docs must be submitted before a withdrawal could be made.

So I didn't deposit, but at least they stopped it becoming a problem

Touché

A casino cannot hold on to a players money indefinitely and if they have please provide evidence. If not shut the fuck up and move on simple

I’m not picking on @Miller26 but when someone pops on here worried about the SOW they are involved in and someone says as long as your not an international drug dealer you will Be fine just isn’t true.

Ideally, SOW and ID checks should be made regulation as part of opening an account; this would prevent a lot of the shit people have to go through to get their money.

To be honest, with the amount of "fake" streamers these days, and the amount of fucking about with SOW documents, i prefer to just play live and stay away from online.

That’s definitely a fair way of doing it, it’s certainly not the norm as I’m sure you’d expect
