I had to Google the Bitcoin value. That’s a big loss lad, tbh i was dumbstruck when I read how much you had placed on Trump. Time for reflection bro. Please be careful.

Keep your chin up mate, not the first and wont be the last to do this. Hopefully it hasn't left you in financial difficulty. The timeout will give you time to reflect and reset.

I will not lecture you because you are big enough to know better champ .

Best thing to do in taking a timeout .Maybe reevaluate where you are going in life

I'm OK, had a good talk with myself this morning, just wanted a reminder of my stupidity if I ever felt like gambling that kind of money again.

Hope you're okay @ColourMeUp

I feel we may have had a simular experience although I'm not sure of your stakes etc

But I'm currently enjoying a 6 week time out from 21. I feel I can breath again and feel reason seeping back into my skin. I felt stressed and frustrated with my gambles so I knew it was an easy decision to pause and reflect.

I just caught myself one day running my finances into 0. I'd just moved house so was stressed anyway with the reduced funds for the time being. I was depositing "just" £15 a time to do 2 x £7.50 spins on 21's computer roulette, hoping to get it to £70-100 for a low stakes slot session. Even if I hit that target I'd just keep playing roulette and losing the balance, re depositing and missing my section again and again. Even though that roulette stake was low to me (ideally i like £25-50 spins), I felt a huge stress building up as no matter what section I covered...the other always came in.

I'm happily back to work now too my restaurant bar has reopened for the time being, I think I was certainly abusing gambling in a negative way this furlough and feel refreshed and level headed now ready for my time off to end in a few more weeks. I'll be sticking to slots low stakes as I enjoy, and with a new deposit limit for now while Christmas approaches and I put friends family and memoties first, again.

Oh wow I love a waffle don't I!  :))

Yes, a bit of time off helps to reavulate things. Fingers crossed for you.

I think for myself, deposit limits don't work, no good having a x limit in this day and age when there are so many different casinos that you can sign up to and set another deposit limit.

I think I may gamstop myself again. I don't even get any enjoyment out of slots anymore, tough one, cus if I do I can't play online poker (which I actually make money doing) so, slightly reluctant. Wish you could block certain sections of gambling sites, slots etc but leave poker etc.

I am not sure who you are with but most bookmaker sites and I believe Pokerstars allow you to block certain areas of the site and just play on others, It can be a permanent ban or a timeout . maybe have a look on settings or talk to chat

I perma banned myself on stars after doing my nuts in on slots a few times, didn't realise you could block different areas back then. I know Sky have had that facility for quite a while, I've got it in place.

My poker site doesn't have a casino attached to it, thank god.

I guess the other option is to go to every individual casino and just perma ban my self, probably very time consuming, but worth it in the long run.

I would say it would be worth your time in the long run because if you block everything when you really do not want to then you may be more likely  to do something silly in future

You must be ballin’ at the minute then. I thought I was doing ok with a few eth. Wish I’d kept my coin from 2012.

Just hoping it keeps going up, pretty much my retirement fund, once it hits a certain amount Im leaving this god forsaken country behind and never coming back.

How many BTC do you have if you don’t mind me asking? I don’t deal with many other people in crypto. I watch that Foss dude sometimes and I know he withdraws all his winnings into BTC and ETH.

10 currently, I bought 15 initially, cashed out at $20k on 3 of them, punted one on slots and cashed out another at $23k to punt on Trump 😬

@ColourMeUp 10 BTC is huge mate. I own none but still just check the value for fun. As the value keeps increasing when do you think you will sell , do you have any targets ? As they say, " what goes up must come down " ?

It's not in the grand scheme of things, although I appreciate its a huge chunk of money currently.

I believe that sometime in the next couple of years it'll hit 100k/btc, then 250k. I guess that's my target.

Would have to see how the economic landscape changes over the years, with this potential "great reset" supposedly coming in at some point, and with that, I guess the banking system as we know it possibly changing dramatically or even becoming defunct, maybe its not a bad idea to have assets that aren't held in traditional currency!?
