BREEDERS CUP CONTEST

I am considering running a competition for the Breeders Cup that takes place on 6th/7th November. It will be slightly different to the normal horse racing competitions in the scoring sense, as the US tote prices will determine the points. Full rules and details will be provided closer to the time, assuming enough want to play. So drop a message on this thread if you intend to have a go, and we will go from there. All welcome as usual, and any newcomers that are about, feel free to join in the fun.

Ok, for those who have put themselves forward, here are the rules for the Breeders Cup horse racing competition .

The competition will run over 2 days, both the Friday and the Saturday. The highest cumulative total over both days will be announced as the winner. Selections can be posted all at once, or on individual days, so long as the selections are in BEFORE the start of the first allocated race on each day.

Scoring.

Each player is allocated 100pts per race. (Exact races will be confirmed on Thursday at the latest). Players have a choice on how they play that 100pts, but any scores are as per the US Tote returns, NOT THE BOOKMAKER SP. I will be using the returns as printed in the Sporting Life results page and points will be allocated depending on how you have spent those 100pts.

US Tote offers WIN (win only obviously)  PLACE (to finish either first or second) and SHOW (to finish first, second or third). Players have the option of spending their 100pts split over any or all of those 3 options. So you could do 100 win, or 100 show, or split it and go for 20 win and 80 show, or cover all 3 options.  30 win, 30 place, 40 show. As long as the total is no more than 100pts per race. And it is ONE selection only per race. And that is it, simple really.

Should we end up in the unlikely position of a tie, the person with the most winners will take top spot, and if still a tie then the highest SP of any winner will decide. If still a tie, then you have been cheating 🙂

TGC have kind offered a spin on the BIG wheel as top prize, and the runner up will win a spin on the smaller wheel.

Anyone seeing this for the first time, still plenty of time to get your name down to play. Everyone is welcome.

Any questions just pop them in the chat.

20.10 New Mandate 20 win
21.30 Aunt Pearl 10 e/w

22.15 Essential Quality 10 e/w

Saturday picks:

17.02 Gamine 20 win
17.39 Leinster 10 e/w
18.18 Complexity 10 e/w
18.57 Rushing Fall 20 win

Like how keen you are mate, but please read the rules regarding how to use the points 🙂  Also, I suspect there will be more races than you have selected, so a bit of patience until the final races are confirmed is required!!
