I opened my front door for the first time in 8 days to be overwhelmed by how many people were out clapping and cheering for NHS workers and key workers. There truly is love out there.

#stay safe

Thank you to the nhs

Thank you to TGC for being here for me

One love

❤️

They are all heros going to work without the correct equipment to keep them safe.

It was heartbreaking to see the nurse of TV saying she was petrified to go to work, but she will still go.

Some will die yet they still do their duty to care for others.

Most of us won't know what's it's like to feel like that including me so all we can be is incredibly grateful.

A fantastic thing to do, all NHS staff and everyone behind the scenes are real heroes. We are so fortunate to have a brilliant health care system.

I think the real heroes are the police force. The front line and who knows where we would be without them

Sadly i wasn't at home at 8pm but we did drive down a main road to hear everyone clapping. Only thing is we pipped the horn all the way down and people cheered thinking we worked for the NHS.

I know mate 😂. I just thought no point in clapping so I'll pip and they starting cheering as well as clapping. I said to my mate who was driving they think we work at the hospital. 🤦‍♂️

I don’t think enough is being said about what the police are doing during this epidemic. Serious respect goes out to them.

Can I create one purely for the police. Our hard working police deserve it. Especially during this crisis. Harsh that the NHS are getting all the credit without the police force not getting a look in

Gkels instead of hjacking a post about support for key workers who will face extreme difficulties over the next few month to be a jackass

do something volunteer to help show your support or shut the fuck up .

there are many carers and health staff here and I find your comments extremely disrespectful

But we know your stance on the police so a thread just to provoke reaction would be be counter productive wouldn't it

Every machine at work pulled up at 8pm and we clapped for 2 minutes. Seemed surreal. If anyone here works for the NHS then a great big thank you for your service.

But I dare say they would be the first ones you contact if your house got burgled

Respectfully... no. Mainly because I’ve spent tens of thousands of pounds on expensive solicitors making sure they never come near my house ever again

Who’s this fella?

It is Police Officer Andrew Harper who was killed in the most appalling way being dragged by a car with his body having the most traumatic of injuries.

His colleagues found him by the roadside and were with him as he passed away.

A very harrowing way to die :(
