Kev40
Yes still working but now I'm starting to get worried. There is little or no fish coming into the market. The company i do work for are struggling to cope with the massive demand in orders. Half the staff are working from home. The phones are going mad and many of our products are off sale. If we get through the next two months it will be a miracle.

Levskie101
For anyone with kids off Amazon have taken any subscription fees on books and audio stories whilst the schools are closed A huge thanks to anybody working in any essential work I take my hat off to you and it’s because of people like you that maybe just maybe we might survive this nightmare with as little deaths as possible. Douvan
I’m still working I’m afraid. Working in food packaging production is going mad at the minute because of the demand to the point where we have been put on continentals to cover extra hours.

I can’t understand why we’re not using the taxi drivers to deliver food through their community. Like most other self employed people it certainly is going to be a major problem trying to survive this pandemic with no work and uncertainty about gov assistance . Not to say that it wont be any easier for paye employees that cant work ,as its easy for the gov to say we have u covered , can forsee a lot of probs arising with accesibility to this fund .imo . (time will tell ) I have handed my car back as of yesterday, along with most other drivers as it is a pointless situation with no source of work at all . i am more fortunate than some as i have some savings to keep me going for a while and will be ok in the meantime . there will be work available for some i would imagine , one of the local larger company's have been doing nhs contracts for as long as i can remember ,eg patient transport and bloods/medical delivery between hospitals and so forth . These larger company's also have freephones installed in all the supermarkets , and if needed for deliverys they would be 1st in line for that sort of thing , but as i understand it there is a massive drive on for warehouse/delivery by the supermarkets ,so there is no guarantee of any of this being an option . Keep well and stay safe mate 1
Blampy
Ummm not exactly. Seems like my company didn’t like the way I voiced my concerns for my welfare so they suspended me. 3

I feel alot of companies are going to see this as a great excuse to cull the work force. ☹

adamuk
I'm not at work indefinitely but getting full pay, I signed up last Night to the NHS volunteer thing and had to send ID in they then do a DBS etc and put me to work delivering Food or Meds to the vunerable. I'm also staying at my Girlfriends and her family which is odd but we are getting on well, Rachel is still at work as she works for the NHS so my days are spent at the moment trying to entertain her 5 year old. Also it's a bit odd as Rachel and her parents are all Vegan and Gluten Free, it will do my diet good I think! I donated £1000 to the local foodbank here as people believe it or not have been stealing out of the bins provided to put food in We are in a tiny market town and the pubs are all giving away Beer for Free for donations to the foodbank, the average age of the population here is well into the 70s. Stay safe everyone 8

Guest andywilliams1187
I work from home anyway but business as usual for me at the moment. If anyone is looking for work, you can literally turn up at a tesco/Asda and they are starting staff with a very quick turnaround (around 2 hours) from showing ID to starting work. Really feel for the care industry at the moment. A few of my mates are also in the shit because for the last few years they have been self employed; fudging the books so it only looks like the earn a pittance and it is now biting them in the arse when trying to claim the 80% of the government as it is being worked out on average salaries. They ignored the warnings and rules from the government, now they are really in the shit. Most deaths in Europe and catching china up. It's a joke really mate, there is a building site not far from mine and the lads are all there working. Boredom took over today and I set up some old plates in the back garden and used them as targets for my air rifle. Shelley comes home from work and asks if I have seen the spare kitchen dishes she has put aside for one of her mates at work.............errrrrrrr noooo.
