I think it’s important to have vices anyway. Apparently they are the only things that are pleasurable in life. I have placed bets that have put me out of my comfort zone and I’ve chased a loss a few times in my life. Luckily for me I tend to gamble when the opportunity arises itself and I’m not doing it to fulfil some sort of urge.

That's the best way to do it!

Yeah, good to have vices, shame they are rarely good for you

Hi mate sorry for changing subject but I’ve recently just bought a very good metal detector (well it’s not the best but cost me nearly a grand) so it’s decent. I am clueless tho. If u don’t mind what are the best places to go? Farmers fields etc? And also I think there’s something on it where if u find something useless u can programme it in so it won’t find it again? Hope u don’t mind me changing the subject but i just seen metal detecting and thought I’d ask lol

Here’s an honest question to everyone on here. There’s clearly quite a few on here suffering and plenty here to offer words of advice etc when someone needs it. But do you think if you are trying to give up gambling these forums are the best thing for you? I’ve never had an issue with gambling but if I did it would be a clean break surely that’s the most likely way to succeed?

Like David said its all down to the individual. Some get away from all gambling mediums altogether, some watch streamers to get their fix, and some like to chat and seek advice and solace from others. Like the comps I do, some can't play them at all, as picking out horses or footy teams would be too much. some join in as they are effectively gambling for free and having some fun, with no pitfalls. Just we have to be there for everyone. Its a gambling forum that supports non gamblers, and that support network, along with the charity stuff, tis what makes TGC special imo....but I do get what your saying.

That the things these days nobody knows what to do goverment have admitted a problem finally reduced limts in bookies has that worked no cause damage is done. Shops are empty but they were years ago cause everyone done their cash. They limit tv adverts for casinos but there was no adverts on tv back when i got hooked but still happened. 16 year old allowed to go stick a bet on. Used to make you wait 24 hours to enter a casino but done away with that as well. Gamblers are gonna gamble one way or another  gamstop and gamban all good and well but only folk signing up to them are pretty much gonna be past point of no return and know all the tricks if they wanted to gamble. The tax money need to go on fast help and more strict soruce of wealth checks if folk could only gamble say 10% of their income if they paid of their home this could solve it easily it different if you not a homeowner yet through away you excess income. Gambling forums will help a few but by time folk reach here they no the issues but 90% casino staff bookie or online staff could pick problem gamblers out in seconds.Same as most from here. How do you solve the problem who knows.

Some brilliant answers to this question, I have often sat here before i do one of my quizzes and thought about the points raised.

If you look at my "prizes" I offer it's normally a list, like Flowers delivered or meal out, Amazon card I even did Cornish pasties once, I also offer a cash equivalent, but I try to steer people away form that, and infact for all future Competions the only cash prize on offer will be a charity donation, hopefully the prizes will be as weird as the Competion, and our very own @Crunchie can testify it is a terrifying expericence wandering what I will send you if you choice the "mystery prize"

I thank you for doing them, especially when the chat is quiet. who had pasties?? who delivers cornish pasties and how many did they get? must have been for our brothers from the deep south like hackz, centi or blamps?

Don't mention the pastie give away, the person who won them didn't want them, they nominated someone else they didn't want them and so it went on, in the end I donated the equivalent to Charity.

Yes they are technically Cornish Crunchie as they're made in Cornwall however if you live here there not an option, let my photos demonstrate why...

Here we have what appears to be dog food and mince meat that has been rudely wrapped in some sort of pastry, notice the pieces of potato are all exactly the same size, urgh! They also turn into these flat little sweaty things when you microwave them, bit like a slice.

Next we move onto subject 2, this is a real Cornish pasty from Niles bakery, flaky pastry, hand made and with a perfect contents of chuck steak and seasoning, see the difference, there the same price too

That crust is a massive 3 day dose of heart burn for me but would gladly give it a go, I bet the cheese ones are lovely.

And somebody needs to stop biting their nails, give your arse a little scratch or somebody else’s ? before temptation sets in, soon put a stop to that.

Since packing in gambling I have dreamed about gambling for the past 3 nights, is this normal?. I would rather be dreaming about shagging all the birds on love island.

Yes it's normal mate. It's also a massive relief when you realise it was only a dream. It will pass after a while. Your doing well keep it up.

Yes, it is normal. Your mind is a filing system and when you dream it picks from all sorts of hopes and fears.

You are dreaming about it because it has caused you to stop and think. You can do this x
