No, look - if the guy had come on and been honest, admitted he made a made a mistake and asked for support, he'd have got it alongside a great deal of sympathy. Many of us know first hand what gambling addiction is like and how easy it is to slip up and do something like try to circumvent restrictions you've put on yourself to get a fix. He could have accepted responsibility for his actions, accepted he consciously and purposefully frustrated a casino's mechanisms to identify him as an excluded individual, accepted the loss was his fault, accepted there's no legitimate way to get that money back now and been directed to all manner of help and resources. But the only thing he cared was about the money. You can't help someone who won't help themselves. The only way he can even have a chance of getting this money back is by committing fraud, specifically by falsely claiming to his bank that he didn't authorise the payments which were charged to his card. I'm not going to advise him to do that, because it's a crime and one he's actually quite likely to be caught for. It's not putting the boot in to refuse to indulge this sheer fantasy that he's somehow owed the money back or has a legitimate claim to a refund when he deliberately gave false details on the account to get around a block. Nor is it helpful to him as an addict to encourage him in this line of thinking. He's completely contradicted himself and his story every alternate post, then has the temerity to act incensed that other community members have called him out for his lies. I don't believe for a second this bollocks about it being his wife and him not knowing anything about it until after the event (let's just say as a gambler, I wouldn't take those odds), but even if it is true - there's no denying he has only himself to blame for the fact no one believes him now. He said he thought this was a professional forum with supportive members. Well it is - and most of us are smart and experienced enough to smell the BS of a desperate gambler from a mile off. So if he wants to pursue his refund through the police, the bank, a solicitor, IBAS or whatever else, good luck to him with that but it's on him and I don't think he's likely to get anywhere, certainly not in any honest way that won't have later repercussions for him. I gave my sincere advice, which is to swallow the loss and talk to a counselor at Gamcare. 3
Blacko
I'm not casting any aspersions but the casino industry must receive thousands of emails and phone calls by gambling addicts looking for loopholes in the vain attempt of retrieving money they have lost. You have ZERO chance of receiving any of the money you have lost!.

Also i used my missus card at casumo. She had to write a letter of consent and i did receive my withdrawal so how can it work one way and not another. Ladbrokes is the only online bookie I’ve used for years mate so I would like to think I know how it works there. Trust me you cannot deposit with someone else’s card details (I have tried with my wife’s card) it just don’t let you do it. This is why I have mentioned he/they have gone through the PayPal or something similar route to deposit but they have so far not answered regarding PayPal. @Mart1980 you have said you can’t remember username, is there not an option for forgot username/password? I also find it hard to believe they cannot find your account after giving them names ,dob, address etc.

Brownman24
I find this all pretty funny because I tried this one on a couple of times before but was my brother instead of wife... casino said fuck off and the bank said well okay we would have do a fraud investigation and essentially told me to have a think because the police might have to be involved. I obviously stopped at that point because although I was a compulsive lying shit bag I knew to stop it there. I can honestly say there really wasn’t much I wouldn’t do to get hold of money. Most of the forum members on here know that about me and have always been very good to me and I’ve never been trolled because I come correct and don’t try be something Im not.. I’ve changed my life around and doing really well so if you want a chat PM me but don’t keep this sillyness up 2

Kings1k
8 pages I’ve just waded trough to find out the amount and still waiting. I’m really just being nosey but is it worth shopping your wife for what could be £270 or even £2700, is it really worth it in the hope you might get the cash back? I would concentrate on ensuring your wife gets the help needed to control her gambling demons and look at the money lost as a life lesson. If you get the money back at some point, how will that have any effect on your wife, pretty much shows her she can do it again if the urge takes and the money will be returned!
