Nicola
No Online Gambling on Christmas Day - https://nobet364.co.uk -- A great idea set-up by a group of problem gamblers. Despite their efforts campaigning tirelessly, only three casinos (out of 861 UK casino sites) have closed their doors today. What is also sad today is the number of casino streamers pushing out videos and some even doing live streams. Clearly greed comes before family.

PieGamble
Why can't people just be happy with their own plans at Xmas and let other people do what they want without passing judgement? I don't see the problem myself.

Guest
Incidentally, the only bookmaker/casino to sign up to it, is a bookmaker which I cannot recommend highly enough. Absolutely top class.
RB91
Whole idea seems pretty pointless to me. But fair enough.

Markymark
Agree to a point Nicola, but not everyone has family/kids at Xmas, so watching someone stream and engaging on chat maybe there only contact with anyone over Xmas. Same for going online and having a gamble. I do agree on the principal of what your getting at. Hope your having a great Xmas
philinvicta
I have to say that some people would like to have an outlet if they are bored but I do think it is wrong that bookies and casinos are sending out emails and doing adverts encouraging people to bet. I understand that Ladbrokes got some very bad press from putting out adverts encouraging people to bet on Virtuals on Christmas day, I feel this is a little different from people who might want to pick out bets for Boxing Day football fixtures or Horseracing who want to do an early bet whether it is to get an early price or the fact they will be out for the day. It is no different from a pub that may open for a short period on Christmas day to let people get out for a quiet drink if they do not want to be alone. By this time I have no doubt there will be a lot of people buying things online that they do not really need because they have nothing better to do. The people I really feel sorry for are the workers who have to go in tonight to set up Boxing Day sales etc as they have no choice and are most likely to be lowly paid and the bosses on megabucks will be off with their families while they do it

Maybe just maybe people are bored and don't want to sit around watching crap TV and would rather gamble or talk about casino groups that are closing. RB91
I think people forget that not every fudger in the world celebrates Christmas. Edited December 25, 2019 by RB91

No I'm on an affiliate funded gambling forum reading posts and writing the occasional one myself. It's odd to me that some think it's blasphemous to gamble or stream gambling on Xmas day but reading and posting about gambling is totally fine. But everyone is entitled to their opinions. I wonder how many of the regulars here have gambled today or will by the end of the day? Pretty sure if I wasn't gamstop'd I'd have loaded up by now.

You state you're on gamstop but don't see any reason for a gamble free day . I would also say being an ex online addict that anyone who's playing slots or streaming them on Christmas day has serious problems because even at my worst I would never do that. But gambling is a mindset though isn't it? Doing it, watching it, writing posts about casino groups that are closing. They all revolve around the same thing. I'm happy you think making Xmas day a gamble free day is a good thing - like I say - everyone is entitled to their opinions and yours is no less or no more valid than mine. Merry Xmas. What what do you reckon a gamble free day accomplishes? Fortunately, bullshit religious values don’t carry much weight these days anymore - unless you want a drink in New Zealand on Good friday or Easter Sunday. Which is as stupid as this proposed “gamble free day” on Christmas.

crazyrightmeow
Christmas is more or less just another day for me and probably a lot of other people too so I dont see the point of the whole concept since it wont change anything. Guest
I like the concept of a gamble free day. Alas you have more chance of having a bully & hate free day because some people just can't help themselves.

Triggered101
For me it depends on your situation. People have the right to choose how they spend their time and money without judgement. If they are happy, let them be✌ Before I was on Gamstop I would 100% be sat pissing money up the wall whilst others were watching the soaps. But casinos could possibly do more to help at this time of year, "When the fun stops, stop" is a pile of bullshit, make it sound so easy. The high street shops have lost millions these past few months, I think it's fantastic. I have seen many a lonely figure throw there full christmas wage on the FOBT roulette before the £2 stake.

Why is it that people who are problem gamblers should influence what people want to do on Christmas day. What about next year they try for boxing day would that also be a great idea. then next year all of December when would it stop being a great idea and just ridiculous? Is it also sad for the folk working other jobs too be working on Christmas day? Not everyone has a family or give 2 shits about Christmas
