Hacko 1 Posted September 29, 2019 Share Posted September 29, 2019 My eldest lad is now learning to drive so we have been out and about looking for his first car, after a couple of weeks looking around he’s ended up with a lovely black Audi A3 which I got a good deal on, the insurance has set me back a couple of quid short of £2000 which is expensive but around the going rate these days for new drivers. Whilst looking around at cars it brought back a few memories of my first car. My first car was a 1988 Escort XR3i which I bought from a salvage dealer, the car had been previously stolen and stripped of all interior, doors, boot, bonnet, wheels basically it was a shell with an engine, I rebuilt that car myself and was very proud of it. Bought between my sis and I, as I was living in London and no use for it really. Got nicked while I was going for a job interview in Swansea. never saw it again. Never had one nicked yet but last year I went to Liverpool and parked in a multi story car park, I was late so was rushing like mad, got back to the car a few hours later and realised I’d left the side lights on and the keys in the ignition, I was in a merc at the time so was dam lucky as insurance wouldn’t of paid out.
