Guest
Hunger on Netflix. True story about the Convicted IRA Terrorist Bobby Sands. Who went on hunger strike, ultimately dying along with about a dozen other inmates. The protest was directed at Margaret Thatcher, who literally didn't give a shit and called it an attempt at garnering pity (theres a reason they called her 'the biggest bastard of all time'). Its a bit pretentious at times, some scenes are needlessly long and for no apparent reason either. But its not a bad story. Just as a side note, in 1981 the Iranian Government ordered the renaming of Winston Churchill Street to Bobby Sands Street in Tehran, the street where the British Embassy still stands. For such an oppressive country, they have banter.
Mattowl1867
The trails of Oscar Pistorious on BBC Iplayer was pretty well made. Four parter. First two episides especially insightful then the last two kinda go around in circles again for unnecessary filler before showing the court process and verdict, still decent though. Does highlight what an amazing breakthrough the 'Blade Runner' had made for the 2012 Olympics as well as hinting at off the field problems and mindfulness. They obviously didn't know too much about this other side to him which resulted in a lot of repeated stories in my opinion, cut up between stock footage of him running various tracks as as kid or a pro.

Looks like there may possibly be another series aswell There was only one book written. The author died sadly a year or so after publication. I’m also not sure where they would go with it as it was about her formative years and impact/coping mechanisms of surviving trauma. Of course this would transition into adult life in some forms of vulnerability. However not to the extreme extents as she individually grew instead of the game being the scaffolding of her structure/escapism. She also overcame the dependency of the tranquillisers which had isolated her more into the safety of her own world. Her crying that one and only time was so telling. What are your thoughts? I have spoken to friends and we have all had different thoughts. That I guess is what is so genius about this Edited November 17, 2020 by Guest

That I guess is what is so genius about this I also thought the bit where she cried was significant but she dare not let herself go completely as she wouldn't stop. I thought it was quite sad that she never got to see her mentor again. I won't go on as don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but all in all so brilliant. It was on the radio this morning that the actress was very keen to make another series. There's probably more to give in following her life. We'll see Edited November 17, 2020 by david1111
