philinvicta
Still a bit of money left to spend as Amo just paid 4.3 million Guineas for a very well bred Wootton Bassett after Goldolphin spent 1.7 million and 1.6 million earlier and I think they were underbidders on the 4.3 million one

philinvicta
M V Magnier finally spent a decent sum of 1.5 million guineas on a Frankel Filly. Really kept his powder dry so far . Has wonderful constraint when prices are overly strong. They are saying this is strongest sale in 20 years. It will keep a few studs in good fettle

With the current TGC budget we would be lucky to be able to afford the teaser from the other day !

He is my favourite US rider but that was not his finest hour. Him and Holly really went at it early. This horse often goes early and stays 6 furlongs so to be honest I did not panic until last half furlong and I thought he was going to win a couple of lengths, Managed to nick the 6/4 as well. I’m not giving a monkeys about the bet, I want to see the potential of this horse .

I just wish they would take a chance and let them run as older horses but there is just too much money involved. Coolmore folks are all older and have so much money anyway it would be nice to see one or two race on.

It’s all about the breeding fees these days Phil and those videos you linked to the sales proved how lucrative it can be. Troy won the derby well yet Newmarket still blots the copybook.. think a win tonight is needed for the premium in breeder fees. Frankel had a short career, done what he had to I suppose. That is what I mean though Frankel ran as a 4 year old. he was also an unbeaten horse at the end of his 3 year old season. He is fondly remembered by the public as well and I doubt if there are any of Coolmores that register. Frankel was also a much higher rated horse than City of Troy. City of Troy is currently only rated 128 and need to improve tonight. He is only 3lb clear of Nathaniel who stands for 17500 . A lot of big names on that list that never managed to get their head in front. As much as the derby wasn’t the greatest I thought Troy won it convincingly. We will soon know Phil, it beats watching the shite we’re served on a daily basis.
