The only interference was to Langer Dan with him getting sandwiched and bumped but they couldn't promote him from 3rd to 1st so decision had to stand.

philinvicta
I know he is favourite but I really think Git Maker is value in the Scottish Grand National. 8 lengths behind Iknowthe wayurthinkin at Cheltenham and that horse came out and won a Grade 1 at Aintree fairly easily. Iknowthewayurthinkin was raised from 145 to 158 after Cheltenham and surely ran to a higher rating at Aintree to win. Git Maker only went up from 132 to 133 and only carries 10 stone 3lbs in todays race, The horse behind him in third was Wacker Clan beaten 18 lengths by him and runs off its same mark and yet is only around 16/1 for the Scottish national ( he was a lot shorter price 17/2 against 28/1 at Cheltenham). Some good staying chasers in the race but I feel Git Maker who is stepping up in trip ( was staying on very well up the hill at Cheltenham) could be very well in at the weights.

The market went a bid mad there in my opinion Mr Incredible was 2nd fav and he is a doubtful starter today he jumped off and pulled himself up. Has a lot of ability but he was way too short ( shades of Vodkatini. Huge gamble on the Sarah Bradstock horse right on the off, McDermott was the fav a week ago at around 6/1 after the grand national when it was obvious Mullins would go for the Trainers championship and yet he went off at 18/1. Git maker went out to 8/1 and was the only single figure priced horse to place Edited April 20, 2024 by philinvicta

He had some engine to finish 3rd there even with the jumping.

Blacko
@david1111 @philinvicta What's your opinion at the start of the flat season, any stable showing early form?, I always used to back Johnstons horses at the start of the season but the stables been grim since Martin stepped down. I've not seen much racing at all tbh. I've not had a bet on anything for over a year now so don't watch it religiously. I always found the start of the flat season impossible with all the newcomers and only all weather form to go on.

It is always dodgy at the start of the season as you do not know what horses have improved over the winter though I did see a couple of horses that had winning form from the all weather win on the grass . I have had very few bets the last week as the ground is also rubbish at most meetings . I normally wait for the Guineas meeting. This has trainers form in the last 14 days but includes jumps as well as flat looks like O Meara and Karl Burke are top of the flat https://www.britishracecourses.org/in-form-trainers/

A gambler can never say never Most of the casinos don’t want to know after gamstop expires. I have an account with ABC which has been limited to £20 daily deposit, I use sportingindex for my football bets which is also limited. I wanted to go back to bet 365 but they flatly refused due to being on the GS database at one point, I respect their decision. Crypto is a completely different beast, they mainly all have the same selection of slots which are 99% bonus buy based. I play crypto if I’ve had a run of good luck on the football which has been fairly generous to me recently. A £100 deposit is literally fuck all with these casinos as bonus buys start at £20 and are usually dogshit. Take dead or a wild for example, the VS bonus costs £40 on a 20p stake and it regularly pays absolutely fucking zero. Hacksaw slots such as chaos crew are wank, big bamboo has went utter wank. I won last week playing all the old stuff like wishmaster etc.. did really well and collected and ran away with it. It’s a dangerous road to go down is crypto. I imagine the ability to lose money extremely quickly and the lack of regulation has caused catastrophic damage to many a player.. there is no safety net, nothing!.

Ive still got roughly couple of years left on gamstop so god knows what will happen to the industry in that time. I have heard that a lot of providers won't take you back even after gamstop expired. Not a bad thing as you only end up going down the same route and maybe even signing up to gamstop again. I don't think I will ever go down the crypto route due to the risk of not being paid with no recourse. I do miss not having a bet as it does get your juices flowing, but I don't miss the absolute dejection off loss
