Be interesting where they go now but it was a great return and great for racing

i assume it will likely be over Christmas at Leopardstown as Fairyhouse in a couple of weeks would seem to be too quick

He was running of 11stone 5 though compared to the rest of the field great comeback tho

He looked like he would have been ok with the extra 3 or 5 he was given.

Yeah possibly. He’s still in the betting for the King George.

He probably did a run around the 160 mark.   He should come on a lot for the run after such a long break despite the fact he would have been pretty fit from homework .   I would be more worried about the way he jumped a couple of the fences

He was a bit sketchy over 3 fences including the last but I’m sure they’ll tidy that up. Match practice needed perhaps. Not very often he jumps badly.

Jeremy Pass travelled superbly for a while. Should have figured that Johnson was only up for one ride.

Agreed, travelled strongly but travelling for that one ride said it all. I don’t know much about the racing scene apart from musing over the travellers check in the post LOL. Usually a horse that’s done fuck all in Ireland, sent to Musselburgh where it usually obliges.

There was an article in the RP a few days ago where it said the bookies had took a disproportionate amount of the early bets on Slate House so it had been priced up accordingly.

Enjoying watching mini documentaries on the Nichols/Henderson stables. I just see names printed in the Post, didn’t realise the labour of love that goes into the sport. It’s like one big family at these stables.

People read too much into this. Its not unusual for these top jockeys especially if they are riding in the north for example to only get 1 or 2 rides on a card. Add onto the fact that he would have been riding Cheltenham today, at short notice his agents picked him up a ride elsewhere. Someone like Johnson (basically a hard worker) is going to go to the other end of the country to take a single ride irrespective of the quality of the race or horse. The alternative, they take the day off, guarantee themselves no winners, and potentially end up with a trainer/owner who will favour other jockeys in the future.

Nico was up for just 2 rides the other day and both were odds on, both lost so it's not that easy

Just the way it goes

Good Boy Bobby is a Festival animal this year.

I've had a serious chunk on it. Took 4/7 last night.

Definitely.

That was great to see. Few sloppy jumps but definitely still got a bit of an engine.
