Good on you, get some herbal tea, preferably dry olive oil leaf and steep it yourself (hot water for 5 mins!) to help you sleep regularly and drink as much filtered water as you can!!

spursman
I'm sorry to hear what your going through CM, most who have commented are older than you and know what gambling can do and have experienced losing so much. What the problem is, that with your theory if you keep 30 euros to gambling with from your pay cheque and win say 140, this win will give you false hope, and maybe you will try and chase your pass losses back and then the next month you will probably lose your whole pay cheque again. Maybe like you said your not ready yet because you have not lost enough to make you realise how bad this can be if you are not in control of it. All we can do is listen and try and give you advice based from our experience. Only you can give it up, and like you said that will be when you realise and when you decide enough is enough. Slots and roulette are dangerous, and are mostly luck based and in the long run the house always wins. I have recently given up on slots completely, I actually hate them now and will never play them again, I see people post their big wins on here and I am happy for them, but no one posts their big losses, I am sure if they did there would be so many, more than big wins. Good luck on your journey, but I'm sorry to say if you keep 30 euros to gamble with from your paycheque it would be better that you lose it, winning will only makes things worse. All the best mate.

adamuk
The thing is once addicted to something you have to be very very careful not to replace one addiction with another, NO addiction is good NO addiction is healthy... Hold on Adam how about going to the Gym or running etc I hear people say, if it's a proper full blown Addiction it is unhealthy and will in someway shape or other damage you, or those around you. I was taking about this the other day with someone on here, and I openly admitted that in my life I have to be careful as I get addicted to the stupidest things these days, collecting a particular type of thing for instance, I just HAVE to have it I will go without things to own it, that is not healthy. Then one day I wake and don't like the things around me, and I start collecting something else, and selling my previous addiction. I'm 45 this year and I know what I'm like and i still lose the battle at times, gambling was in the grandscheme of things not to bad to beat, and it's a lot easier with the anti gambling aids that are around now, I think Poker said give your money to you family and fully explain you have a problem and let them drip feed it to you, as with most things he and many others say on here it's excellent advice. Remember failing to prepare is preparing to fail.... Good luck and there is nearly always someone on here to talk so use it. 1

When the FOBTs came out some years ago I believed everyone when they said it was Random..... so I bet heavy , 900.00 per day and lost 110K over 6 years. It didn't matter that I lost the money, what mattered most was that I lost the quality of life I could have had if I had been more prudent and wise. Today I still gamble , and have lost vast amounts of money , but in the last 15 years I have gained a great wisdom..... there's plenty of time to win, but when you lose time seems so important, because we don't like loss, we feel impotent ,even abused by loss. Quality of Life is everything . People around you who care for you need your presence 100% , so don't stick your head in a Gambling gas oven and hide away. Face the beauty of life head on ...and share the love it brings. For it is people that matter , not money. Wow!! Now your talking CM!!! Not only is that a massive, positive step in the right direction for you personally, there are lots of others, that may not have the courage or even the support to do the same, but if they read your updates and you stick to your mission on board HMS TGC, they too, will benefit from reading about your progress and steps towards success! It is very difficult, as @adamuk & our wise old Lieutenant @Solario333 have both kindly pointed out, from their own experiences, to do lots of things without them either becoming an addiction in some manner or from those habits to cost you life monies, that could have been better off spent, to encompass other stuff in life.. Handing over € to your father - excellent! Paying up your bills & food - even better! Not gambling or allowing yourself a budget - PRICELESS!!! Any small, positive step, with any addiction, is a massive leap in life, keep stepping and you will get there 2

Always chase losses, just can't help it. You seem determined this time which is great. CherryPi
I have recorded myself when I was screaming and crying after I lost big and continuesly . I took screenshot also of my screen with the loses one after another after another for a fresh reminder what happened. . Next time I feel let's gamble... I.. I honestly don't want to hear/watch it.. I wanted to forget about it and thinking it won't be that bad if I lose next time. So I gambled again and again and boy it was exactly bad as before...so if you gamble again, try that, it did not worked for me. There are so much better things out there. I know, we know is hardly anything better than making easy money, but it is. Just find it, even if it's another addiction, to shake your mind for a week or month. Get up on motorcycle, feel the adrenaline... Something that will make you feel you are alive even for day or two. groundiskey
@cant_moaning In the past when I found that gambling had got too much for me I closed most of my betting accounts apart from the one and set the limit to that to the smallest amount I could. I soon got bored of gambling and ended up going for small walks to clear my head and this gave me the opportunity to think clearly. I don't know if that's any use but best of luck mate.
