I was just wondering if any of you guys and girls do anything to earn a bit of extra cash? A few people I know trade stocks and have been quite successful.

ive read up on it before and seems too good to be true from some points of view but I’m not a fool and understand it’s volatile at the best of times.

Always dreaming of getting away from self employment and weather dependant jobs 😉

I've looked at that many times before. Everything on the net appears to be a scam.

I hold shares, but making a quick buck isn't easy. Day traders who know what they are doing make money more often than not but it's the city boys who make the big money usually at the expense of the lowly pi ( private investor)

It definitely does, I remember when I was 18 and found the ‘best’ roulette system 😂

there is always ways to make money out there, legitimately I might add, if you could make 50p from everyone in the country you’d be a rich man. Something everyone needs? I’ve often thought about it lol

Truth is, if there was an easy way out there everyone would be doing it

Even 5p each, just from the 67 million in the uk, would make you rich Ryan!!!

It a good thread actually, as there many thousands of ways to make a steady, small, regular 2nd, 3rd or even 4th income, in lots of niches!

I think that gamblers (in general) either have the $ in the first place to waste or have to earn it to waste, there is no in between, if you get what I mean, when it comes to betting!! 🙂

Also, with any money making opportunity you have to put the time and effort in.

As gamblers, we just want a fast easy buck with little effort

I used to buy second hand TVs for between £20-£50 and sell them on as soon as I’d picked them up for double or more! Without having to do a thing to them except a quick wipe over.

I stopped as I got a better paid job and didn’t think I needed to carry on with the TVs. But doing that 4-5 times a week was a nice little side earner.

Stellar way to supplement anyone's income, the wonderful thing about that particular earner, is the TV's are cheap as chips, as DD would say :DD:

100% profit on something, that everyone ALWAYS wants and still does everyday, is a cool little $ generator!

Personally (not work) I love a bit of arbitrage and leverage on that sort of outlay or stock!!

Do you only work in the summer months in the UK then ryan, as you said weather dependent jobs in your OP?

Yeah I found a few places to buy them cheap and sell on at a suitable price whilst making a nice profit, why not I thought!

I work all year round but the majority of time I’m outside, so if it rains/snows I’m off for the day and not earning. No work over Xmas till early Jan as that’s the way it’s worked out with jobs atm.

so wondering what people do when they’re short or just looking to make extra

Honestly, its something you need to research yourself though (starting with google is fine, but learn to differentiate between honest educated opinion and paid advertising articles, eg if you're searching "best investment opportunities with £xx,xxx" for example, understand that you're going to get a lot of articles that will be paid advertising by the companies listed.). Not knowing your budget, how risky you're prepared to be etc it is an impossible question to answer. I can tell you personally that my "retirement fund" is massively spread across many different investments, eg, property, crypto, forex, shares, commodities.

Although I am educated in a similar line to investing, I actually use the services of a few more specialised friends for most of those investments. If you're talking a large sum of money to be invested, you will ideally want an investment advisor at the very least, probably even an investment manager. My own big belief, especially at current times is if you're investing a lot of money in shares or forex, you should balance it against commodities. Not many investment managers are going to tell you that as the yield is generally pretty minimum (platinum and palladium *may* increase a lot in value however in the near future), theres no dividends etc however you're leveraging your more volatile investments against them a little bit, eg, the dollar drops a little, gold will rise a little.

I wouldn't foresee it as being the future of finance as some economists would claim and as I have said for some time I think bitcoin in particular is very much a bubble. The only people I have seen refer to cryptocurrency as a pyramid scheme are those crazy conspiracy theorist youtube journalists however.... so, what have you been watching on YouTube lately buddy?
