No words needed, what a machine but sadly i only backed him in two champion hurdles

Charlie Swan was tailor made for this machine

Just Stunning and must have been truly awesome being on course watching this live, even more so if you were Irish with big Wonga down on Day 1

Would he Deliver ?

I’ll agree with you on that one mate , in terms of numbers the best but if you wanted your horse to live past the age of 5 keep the cunt off it

You don't rate McCoy?

He probably sent as many horses to the knackers yard as he had winners. At times he was fecking verging on cruel on horses just to make sure he got another winner.

Fair enough. I'll be honest, I didn't realise or know people had that opinion of him

Even though he won the King George on Best mate it was clear to see they weren't a good match, Jim Culloty was perfect and just let him do his own thing, i always remember reading Terry Biddlecome saying he didn't like the way AP rode Best mate but on the day of the King George Paul Carberry was booked so they went with AP because of pressure to win at all costs

Agree with you there, and was riding for the most prolific trainer of his time. I think most top jockeys at the time, if they had worked for Martin Pipe they would have been champion jockey. I do admire AP's bouncebackaility from injury and will to win though. Incredible. Sometimes to the detriment of the horse itself sadly.

Probably Kauto Star been my favouite horse. Never really followed a horse religiously, betting wise, ever, closest I got probably was to a horse called Seargeant Cecil about 10 -12 years ago. It was a stayer on the flat. Never had a favourite flat horse, but I would have loved to have seen how good Dubai Millenium could have become.

You cant question McCoys work ethic either. Not an easy job by any means and it rarely even seemed like he had a holiday. He would travel the length of the country for a ride or two. Still wouldn't let him ride mine.
