Currently on some slots you can not bet between $2 and $4. RocknRolla was moaning about it yesterday. I know the mathematical reason of it, but this morning I thought, I can explain it very easy by using double zero roulette as an example, because it has one bet with a similar problem. On double zero roulette you can place one chip on 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. This will pay 6 to 1 and has an house edge of 7.9%, which is 2.6% higher then all the other bets. If it had the same house edge (5.3%) as the other bets it should pay 6,60 to 1. The casino's can't do this because on a roulette table they pay you in chips and not directly with money. Some slots face in some sort the same problem. To pay you to according to RTP they want to register the game with, some payouts would have infinite decimals. For example you would win on a $3 bet : $2.5365654.... They could round the number to 2.54 or 2.53 but then the game would have a better or worse RTP on this certain bet size. It is aloud to provide slots where the gambler can make choices to play the game with different RTP's. For example Hot Chili or White Rabbit by BTG, to get te best RTP on Hot Chili you should always buy the bonus and gamble it up to 24 free spins and for White Rabbit you should always buy the bonus. And of course there are way more examples, like some Yggdrasil games with an extra bet etc. Down side is of course that it makes the games more volatile.
