Grand national.. Sure take your pick. Will myself chance Hill Sixteen 80/1 EW. No problem with the fences according to previous runs. Soft ground shouldn't be an issue. Jockey rode Aurora's Encore to win the 2013 national so jockey seemingly fine with the course as well. Aside from that sure its a lottery and i guess just a bit of fun.6 points

The biggest race of the year is here again with a potential 600 million viewers worldwide. As usual there is a risk of disruption from the animal activists. None of us want to see horses injured or killed ever, but I'm of the opinion that you cannot make a horse do something it doesn't want to do. It's what they are bred for and if they could speak they would probably say they enjoy it. What's everyone's opinion on this topic2 points

At least the police are actually removing them, for some reason when they are blocking a road stopping people getting to their work or to a hospital they just leave them to it when they should be cracking some skulls.2 points

These people that call for all horse racing to be banned on the back of the handful of tragic horse deaths don't seem to appreciate if they got their wish there would be a queue at the glue factory of thousands of horses the next day.2 points

Worth watching the 1.35 Newcastle again, that Cold Sobar could be one to follow, in a battle at the last hurdle with the odds on Fav the Brian Pauling trained Sound And Fury. Sound and fury jumps the last nicely and looks to be off to power on and win, Cold Sobar goes clean through the last hurdle, absolutely stiffens it and comes out of it all wrong and then still somehow manages to get it's act together to win well overtaking Sound and Fury easily between the last and the finish line.2 points

It will be the same as with Hunters and with coursing dogs many will be just sent to race abroad and as you say most of the poorer ones will end up dead.1 point
