Betfair Review

Betfair is a household name these days in online casinos, Betfair was established in 1999 and they made their official launch in 2001. They burst into the scene with their innovative betting exchange and took the world by storm. Over the last few years Betfair has invested heavily in their other products and now have a site with pretty much everything under one roof!

Betfair Slot Providers

Betfair has slots and table games from Ash, Barcrest, Bet Digital, Big time gaming, Blueprint, Cayetano, Colossus, Core Gaming, Endemol, Games Company, Games Warehouse, Geco, IGT, Inspired, JPM, Leander, Mazooma, NetEnt, Orbis, Quickspin, Realistic, Red Tiger, SiS and WMS, then in the Casino section you also have access to Netent, Playtech and WWS amongst others, theres certainly plenty to choose from!

Betfair Sports Book

The sports book at Betfair is one I happen to use occasionally and so its familiar to me, the layout is clear and concise and I tend to always come to them if I’m betting on horses as they list the most information about previous runs and ground conditions, you can also watch replays of previous races before making your selection, they also have the exchange which allows you to get better odds on almost any sporting event once you find something you like on the sports book, lets take a look at that feature now.

Betfair Exchange

Betfair Exchange is the biggest on the market by a country mile, but to some punters it may be a bit of mystery, what exactly is a betting exchange? A betting exchange is basically the same tool that the bookmakers use, you can back a selection or lay a selection, backing is what you do when you place a bet on a football team to win, if you were to lay them you would be taking the bet on them and hoping that they lose or draw so you win the stake, it essentially makes you the bookie and gives you the opportunity to take a bet or place a bet on pretty much any event you can think of, even down to strictly come dancing or big brother! The odds on the exchange are always higher than the bookmakers too as theres no middle man, the way Betfair make money is by charging a small commission on all trades on the exchange so they make money whatever happens, the rest is down to you!

Betfair Lay Bet TGC

In the example above you can see I took a £90 bet on a horse called Acclaim The Nation as I thought it wouldn’t win, I had to risk £184.50 by taking the bet but the horse lost and I made £90 profit, of that £90 profit I was charged a 5% commission of £4.50 leaving me £85.50 up, this can be a nice way to bet if your not having much luck picking winners, to be good at laying you need to be good at picking losers! The exchange can also be used to trade professionally but we won’t go into that as its a specialist profession similar to a stock trader, however its interesting to note a small amount of people make millions from Betfair exchange each and every year by understanding the way odds move, anyway I digress!

Betfair Mobile Site

You can visit Betfair from your mobile device or tablet and in my case when reviewing them I had the option to download a dedicated application from the Apple store, once I had it installed it was easy to navigate and had all the information you get on the main site, I even watched my horse race live on the phone, this live service is also available for certain football matches, basketball, greyhounds, rugby, literally any sport you could think of!

Responsible Gambling

Iv been with Betfair for years now as a customer and I must say there one of a handful of casino’s that have actually messaged me personally to see if my betting is under control as they noticed some larger deposits than usual. What had actually happened each time is that I was placing larger than average bets as it was Cheltenham Festival, I told them this and they said thats fine, I like the better safe than sorry approach though so top marks to Betfair for that.
